Country artist and singer/songwriter Becca Bowen is releasing her new single, “Small Town Christmas,” a nostalgic celebration of the heartwarming traditions and familial memories that make the holiday season truly special. Inspired by her own childhood, Becca co-wrote the song alongside longtime collaborator Sam Woods, with the hope of bringing listeners back to the simpler, yet profound joys of Christmas, reflecting on the way her parents created a magical holiday atmosphere grounded in love and family values. Listen to “Small Town Christmas” here.
"’Small Town Christmas’ is a song that I’ve wanted to write for years," Bowen said. “As a little girl, my parents always made sure our family had a memorable Christmas. It was never about the gifts but about the sense of togetherness, faith, and family that filled our home. I wanted my listeners to feel that same heartwarming feeling through the melody and lyrics of this song.”
One cherished memory Bowen recalls is of her father gifting her mother a red plaid dress set—an outfit that became an iconic part of her family’s holiday tradition. Seeing her mother wear the red plaid skirt and blouse to church each Christmas was a magical sight for young Bowen, who still treasures the photos of her mother in that beloved outfit. While planning the cover shoot for “Small Town Christmas” this year, Bowen experienced a moment of true holiday magic. While visiting with her stylist, Becca spotted a vintage red plaid skirt that was identical to the one her mother had worn decades before. “Right then, I knew I had to wear that skirt for the cover of ‘Small Town Christmas’ and make the entire photo shoot vintage-inspired, right down to my mom’s vintage Christmas ornaments on the tree,” Bowen shared. “It felt like it was meant to be.”
Earlier this year, Becca released fan-favorite tracks “Tangled In Your Love” and “Heartbreaking Business,” both of which showcase her bold storytelling and signature style. “Heartbreaking Business” follows the viral success of her County Line EP, featuring hits like “If I’m Being Honest” and “Son of a Gun,” a song that made waves when Becca revealed its real-life inspiration—a former boyfriend showing up to her show with another woman. This genuine storytelling, paired with Becca’s effervescent personality and multifaceted talent, has resonated deeply with audiences.
Welcoming the juxtaposition of her look and personality, Becca Bowen is a southern Belle with a bold and outdoorsy personality. The South Carolina native exudes confidence in who she is as showcased in the authenticity of her music. In 2020, Bowen released her debut single, “Love It, Leave It,” and was invited to compete in the Outdoor Channel’s popular reality show, For Love or Likes. She was named the winner of Season 5 in 2021, garnering a rapidly growing following and fanbase online, all eager for more music from the emerging star. In 2022, Becca released her debut album, Like You’ve Never Been Loved, which laid the foundation for future releases like “If I’m Being Honest” and “Son Of A Gun” which were featured on her EP County Line at the beginning of 2024. The songs received support from the likes of People Country, Perez Hilton, CMT, Whiskey Riff and more, showcasing Becca’s innate ability to relate to listeners in all phases of life. Her talent for entertaining has also been highlighted via headlining shows and festivals across the U.S., opening for Colt Ford, and performing at Nashville’s beloved Whiskey Jam as well as continuing to guest star as the lead role opposite Chuck Wicks’ in the first of it’s kind live show Shiners which combines cirque, comedy and of course moonshine for a night of fun. Last month, Becca delighted fans as she performed at Bridgestone Arena during the Nashville Predators pre-season home opener.
With upcoming performances, even more new music on the way and momentum at an all time high, Becca is hitting her stride and shows no signs of slowing down.
