David Starr Shares “These Days” Cover and Music Video

“These Days” is the newest release of David Starr’s Touchstones project. The accompanying video captures the world-weary tone of the Jackson Browne song with a nod to the current struggles facing the world, but ultimately ending with hope for the future. “These Days” is now available across digital platforms.

"When I began putting together my list for the Touchstones project, I knew right away that Jackson Browne's "These Days" would make the final cut,” says Starr. “The song has been part of my soundtrack for as long as I can remember. Plaintive lyrics and a simple, beautiful melody take me away every time I sing it. Timeless depth from one of our most prolific American artists."

The track features Starr on lead vocals and acoustic guitar; Mark Prentice on bass and piano; Matt Bubel on drums; John Prentice on electric guitars; Dan Dugmore on pedal steel; Jim Mattingly on violin; and Michelle Prentice on background vocals. The music video was produced by Jason Denton of Solar Cabin Studios.

“These Days” follows Starr’s covers of Bob Dylan’s “Gotta Serve Somebody” and Robert Palmer’s hit “Every Kinda People”. Starr will continue to release a new single every month as part of his Touchstones evolving album project.

All of the tracks for Touchstones were produced by David Starr and Mark Prentice, with co-production by David Kalmusky. All of the songs were recorded, mixed, and mastered at Addiction Sound Studios in Nashville by David Kalmusky along with Ethan Barrette and Alberto Sewald.
