Nashville’s Tennessee Brew Works is once again partnering with Tennessee neighbors, George Dickel Tennessee Whisky, continuing their collaborative barrel aged series with upcoming releases of their barrel aged Belgian-Style Quad Ale and Imperial Porter.
This time around, the teams are releasing a Belgian-Style Quad and a Imperial Porter that have been aged in George Dickel Bottled in Bond Whisky (Fall 2005) Barrels, following that variant being named Whisky Advocate’s “Whisky of the Year” in 2019. The 13-year old whisky was General Manager and Distiller Nicole Austin's first innovation since joining the Cascade Hollow Distilling Co. team in 2018.
The Vintage 2019 releases will mark the third year for these collaborations, and you can view the tasting notes for each below:
BARREL-AGED BELGIAN-STYLE QUAD. 10% ABV. A deep and rich mahogany Abbey-style ale, with notes of caramel and toffee, fig, plum and tobacco, balanced by subtle oak with a crisp finish.
BARREL-AGED IMPERIAL PORTER. 9% ABV. Layers of dark and bitter chocolate, roasted coffee and faint cinnamon eloquently combine with light oak and smoky notes from the specialty whisky barrel.
The Tennessee Brew Works / George Dickel Whisky Quad Ale will be released 11am on Oct. 23 at Tennessee Brew Works’ Taproom in Nashville, Cascade Hollow Distillery in Tullahoma, TN, along with limited retailers in Middle Tennessee.
