Title-Track from Eighth Studio Album Offers “Gratitude and Reflection”(American Songwriter) Following Multi-Song Performance on CBS’ New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash
Multi-Platinum band Lady A launches into the new year with the announce of their next single “What A Song Can Do” (BMLG Records), available now and impacting Country radio on Jan. 31st. The title-track from their eighth studio album serves as a love letter to fans that is steeped in music’s power to get us through and has already garnered nearly 4 million on-demand streams. Written by the group’s Charles Kelley with Ryan Hurd, Sam Ellis and Laura Veltz, “What A Song Can Do” also illustrates the patience and optimism the trio has taken from their years together and is available at all digital retailers here.
“We have been overfilled with gratitude after releasing this album and we don’t take it lightly that after eight albums our music still resonates with so many people,” Kelley said. “This song is the summation of where our hearts are right now and how much music can really pull us through in times of need. We love writing songs about lost love and things like that, but I feel like our favorite material comes with a strong positive message."
Lady A delivered a live multi-set performance during CBS’ New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash where they "got the massive crowd fired up" (Sounds Like Nashville) as they launched into the first song of the night with the fan-favorite hit "You Look Good." Fans can revisit the performance here.
Built around rich vocal harmony, vivid emotional writing and a smooth fusion of country, rock and pop, Lady A have long been a model of mainstream success. The trios 11 No. Ones, 18 million albums sold, 34 million tracks, five billion digital streams and a global touring footprint prove that point. Known for their 9X Platinum hit “Need You Now,” which is the highest certified song by a Country group, they have earned CMA “Vocal Group of the Year” trophies three years in a row and countless other honors including five GRAMMY Awards, Billboard Music Awards, People’s Choice Awards, Teen Choice Awards, and a Tony Award nomination. They recently wrapped their 34-city LADY A: WHAT A SONG CAN DO TOUR with special guests Carly Pearce, Niko Moon and Tenille Arts, where “fans were singing and dancing side-by-side to the sound of Lady A's signature harmonies,” (Newsday). A portion of the ticket sales went towards LadyAID, the group’s philanthropic fund. For more information visit www.ladyamusic.com.
